Cult of Done Manifesto Poster

Inspired by Bre Pettis and Kio Stark’s amazing Cult of Done manifesto, I decided I’d like to make a gorgeous poster to go along with it. I thought that a wood type print would be great, so I hand set a lot of what you see there. Bodoni (a gorgeous typeface) handled the rest on its own.

Loomis & The Lust – Nagasha

This EP was part of the initial press pack I helped create for Loomis & The Lust. We wanted to keep it fun and light, so we introduced some shots of the guys just having fun, some gorgeous color and a little texture.

I directed the design of the package and the logo, and Matt Jordan assisted on the cover. Photography by Tyler Shields. I also created a press site for them.

Icon Church Invite

This was a fun invite for a church’s first service. The goal of this project was to show that faith is a simple, meaningful thing that doesn’t need to be anything that makes you weird.

With that in mind, I found some old imagery and had a some fun with merging the theme of having your head on straight in with their message.

Barcelona, Absolutes 2009 Release

I originally did the packaging and photography for Barcelona’s 2007 release of Absolutes—seen here—and was happy to hear Universal Motown wanted to re-release their record and feature the original photo I shot.

Long Nights Moon Poster

This is a promotional poster for an upcoming film, “Long Nights Moon.” It’s a great, beautiful story that involves a war victim who communicates and interacts with others through paintings. I also designed the film’s logo. Custom type goodness!

Barcelona, Absolutes CD

I had such a great time making this. I even included photographs shot in Charlotte, NC! This record was designed and printed to have substance, weight and an ethereal feel.

I used some great uncoated paper and also did a little something special with the disc to make it look foggy! Additionally, I created a custom identity for them and designed their website.

Brooks Wood Band EP

With this record, we wanted to show love growing in unlikely places.I was responsible for the creative direction, photography and design of this. I couldn’t be happier with the results.

Mosaic Church, It’s Time CD

For this package, I took inspiration from one of the songs and designed this album to the theme of “It’s time to be so bright in this world,” and what the beginning of that would look like. The end result? They loved it. Me too!

AIGA Roots

A poster for an AIGA Charlotte event meetup on finding your roots in design.I had lots of fun creating this and enjoyed making the roots merge into the type.

Beck Shirt

The goal of this project was to match image and type with his super unique musical style.That said, I combined crazy imagery of unknown sea creatures with custom letterforms to create the final product.

Vine Coffee House

A really fun group approached me to design a logo and flier for their youth coffee house. They wanted something fun, smart and appealing.

Using a few gorgeous typefaces and equally hot textures, I was able to provide just that!

Safe From You

This cover, while buckets of fun, was all about found imagery and using it as a letterform. I also wanted to make sure it worked in a way that compliments the theme of running to safety. Cue the ominous clouds, buildings and snakes please!

The Orchestra Tour Poster

This was designed for a talented bunch of guys to support their summer tour. We wanted it to look warm, beautiful and inviting while featuring an orchestra instrument. Everyone was thrilled with the result.

Nine Inch Nails Shirt

I designed this shirt to be gritty, textured and gorgeous. I also wanted to use imagery as part of the band’s name.

I used photocopiers and scanners and thanked all that’s good they were dirty, because this project wouldn’t have been the same with a clean one.

Blunt Fashion Type Poster

This is a poster promoting a typeface that I designed with fashion in mind. It’s called “Blunt Fashion.”
