Do People Recognize Great Photography?

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Thus, I feel as though credit for “greatness” is often bestowed upon modern-day photographers whose work may soon lose its appeal and become utterly insignificant, while those who are producing great work may fly under the radar and never be noticed by the general public.

Really nice, thoughtful post over at PetaPixel on what greatness is and how we’re so quick to bestow it.

Etsy Logo

I’ve just joined up with Etsy to sell a few of my prints! I’ll be adding more as time passes, but right now I’m having a “Hi, I’m New Here!” sale and everything’s discounted.

Have a look around my Etsy shop and give the economy a little stimulation, would you?

Michael Ash Partners Photographers

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

I ran across this fantastic collection of photographers today. Michael Ash Partners Photographers cover about every kind of photography you’d need in any kind of project—and all of them are aces.

I loved Markku and the Dennis Manarchy sets a ton. I think I could easily blow a couple hours browsing here.

New Feature: Individual Feeds!

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

I wanted to make it easier for you to get the content you want on my site quicker. In light of that, I’ve made some individual feeds that you might find of interest.   These RSS feeds only contain content for that specific topic. And of course if you want to get everything, you can still subscribe to the main RSS feed. Here are the categories:

There’s also a Feeds Page, too! Enjoy!

Christyn

I’ve updated my Flickr to show some photos from my good friends Hans and Christyn’s wedding!  Highlights include me capturing a mob fight with the groomsmen (it was friendly!), earning the title of “photo ninja,” and generally sweating to death in such hot weather.  You can view the whole set on Flickr.

 Big Sur

I’m back from gorgeous California!  We had an amazing time, and I took lots and lots of photos.  This one’s from Big Sur, a freaking beautiful beach.  I hear it’s been in lots of movies, and I can really understand why.  It was breathtaking.

I also saw the new Indiana Jones movie.  It was pretty fun, with a few minor outlying little things.  I kept hearing that it dealt with Scientology, and can now see what everyone was saying about that.  It still was good, so I’d say go watch!
