New Feature: Individual Feeds!

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

I wanted to make it easier for you to get the content you want on my site quicker. In light of that, I’ve made some individual feeds that you might find of interest.   These RSS feeds only contain content for that specific topic. And of course if you want to get everything, you can still subscribe to the main RSS feed. Here are the categories:

There’s also a Feeds Page, too! Enjoy!

Twitter

Friday, July 11th, 2008

I’ve been rather active lately on Twitter, and will make an effort to have those posts ported over to here.

I find that I’m posting in lots of places, and will also be making a concerted effort to consolidate all of that information here.  Give me a little time.

If Net Neutrality Loses

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

We’ll very likely end up with a scenario like this, not unlike what we see for television packages.  The net will be filtered and tiered, and way uncool.

Not sure what net neutrality is?  It basically means that cable companies will control what you see on the internet.  Sites with larger budgets—think MSN.Com or NBC.Com—will run faster because they pay ISPs more money, and the rest will be throttled or filtered out of the equation.  You can read about it on Wikipedia if you’d like.

All for unfiltered internets, raise your hands!

California, Son!

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

The mrs. and I are down in beautiful California for a few days to visit with some of our friends and celebrate our 2nd anniversary!

Saw the new Indiana Jones today, it was pretty fun!  Corny, but it was really an enjoyable time.

Unrelated:  you should check out Boeing’s 2008 Environment Report.  No reason. ;)

Hope everyone has a good Memorial Day weekend!  See you next week!

Moving!

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

Unfortunately my site’s gone down a couple times in the past week and has had some other strange quirks with Dreamhost, so I’m heading over to a new host.

So if you stop in and things look strange, don’t be too alarmed.  It’ll be back to normal in a couple of days.

Love,

Josh

Scrubs Not Scrubbing Out!

Friday, May 9th, 2008

After lots of news that last night’s episode of Scrubs would be its last—from both Zach Braff’s blog and NBC saying they were done—I caught a nice little glimpse of a shiny new graphic at the end of the show.  It was an ABC Studios graphic, which instantly made me think they weren’t done yet.

When the show was over, I checked out Zach’s site, and sure enough he had just recently posted that they were shooting another 18 episodes but couldn’t say where they’d air.  Well I’d hedge my bets on ABC.

I’m glad they’re not finished yet. It’ll be nice to get another high five from The Todd!

Season 8 high five!

Hai and Updates!

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

Last week was insane! Sorry to have left you guys hanging. Let me fill you in on what’s happening.

I’m proud to announce that last week I inked a deal with a great agency here in Seattle, Methodologie. They’ve done some amazing branding/design/interactive work for Coca Cola, Boeing, Dale Chihuly, and tons tons more. Their work is inspiring, and they’re some of the smartest people I’ve met yet in design. I’ll be working with them until I leave to go to LA in August. While I won’t be able to say or show publicly what I’m doing for them (silly NDAs!), I can say it’s awesome and bigger than anything I’ve ever done before.

That doesn’t mean I will be unavailable for work, because who needs sleep! Get in touch and we’ll talk!

I’ve wrapped up the post on the movie photos, and will be linking those shortly. I was really proud of them, and can’t wait to share! The rough cut we saw looks amazing, and I can’t wait to shoot the feature in the coming months. We’re going to shoot it in Bulgaria!! Taking those gorgeous Red cameras over there will be sure to give us the most amazing picture ever. The Red cameras we’re using right now shoot at 4520×2540 pixels. They have to downsample it to 1080p HD. That sexy high resolution makes my head asplode!

More soon friends. Take care.

Wednesday Goodies

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

We wrapped on the movie last night, and I couldn’t be happier with what I’ve seen. There was even a surprise wrap party, and those are never bad!  I promise more photos soon.  I have quite a few (around 800) to sort through and process.  It’s daunting, but I can’t wait to relive it.  The name has changed to a Bulgarian title:  ”слушам”  which means listen.  When you see the movie it all makes sense.

A couple links for you:  given the busy political season, all the foreign affairs the US is involved in, which seems more unlikely to happen?  That The President appear on Deal or No Deal?  Or that the Presidential hopefuls would appear on Monday Night Raw?

If you guessed one over the other, you’re wrong.  Because they both happened:

More soon!

Image Mind Light

The Careless Passing

I’ve been really busy lately on the set of a film called “Image Mind Light.”. I designed a lot of the graphic elements in the film, from logos to currency, as well as provided some promotional photography. It’s an amazing film with a great cast and a top-notch crew! They’re even using those hot Red cameras, so everything looks amazing. Plus, my hot wife is in it!

Image Mind Light is a film about a civilization on the decline. Everything is run-down from wars and changes of power, and it’s a poor society. People have been medicated into sedation and complacency to work and not think about life, but there are those the struggle against what’s going on. And it’s a great story, the script is fantastic.

Here are a few photos from the set, more will be coming as we wrap tonight!

Be sure to view the rest of this entry to see all of them.
