My Life’s Questions: Answered!

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

The Unofficial Apple Weblog has a post about the missing ringtone on our iPhones.  You know, the one you always hear in the commercials but can’t ever seem to use for yourself.  I found this out when I got tired of using my ringtone and wanted to go back to what I thought was the original ringtone.  Well friends:  if you’re on a Mac, head on over to:

/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/iLife Sound Effects/Work – Home/Cell Phone Ringing.aif.

For those of you not on a Mac, I’ve posted the file here for you to download: go get it! You’ll just need to look into how to convert it to a ringtone (basically you need to covert it to an m4r file, but it’s super simple.)

Enjoy!

Night Out

Friday, April 25th, 2008

Here’s last night’s The Office, in case you missed it. This episode is where Michael and Dwight go to New York to party with Ryan, while the Scranton branch has to work on a Saturday to make Dunder Mifflin Infinity look good. Loved it.

Wednesday Goodies

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

We wrapped on the movie last night, and I couldn’t be happier with what I’ve seen. There was even a surprise wrap party, and those are never bad!  I promise more photos soon.  I have quite a few (around 800) to sort through and process.  It’s daunting, but I can’t wait to relive it.  The name has changed to a Bulgarian title:  ”слушам”  which means listen.  When you see the movie it all makes sense.

A couple links for you:  given the busy political season, all the foreign affairs the US is involved in, which seems more unlikely to happen?  That The President appear on Deal or No Deal?  Or that the Presidential hopefuls would appear on Monday Night Raw?

If you guessed one over the other, you’re wrong.  Because they both happened:

More soon!

New NIN… again?

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

Apparently so. A new song “Discipline” was sent to radio stations all across the US today, less than 24 hours after mastering. No 2 or 3 months of hype building marketing BS. Love this, and I can’t wait to hear more.

All Nine Inch Nails are saying about it so far is “2 weeks!”

I love the pace they’re setting, Ghosts came out about a month back!

Want to hear it? Check it out!

Image Mind Light

The Careless Passing

I’ve been really busy lately on the set of a film called “Image Mind Light.”. I designed a lot of the graphic elements in the film, from logos to currency, as well as provided some promotional photography. It’s an amazing film with a great cast and a top-notch crew! They’re even using those hot Red cameras, so everything looks amazing. Plus, my hot wife is in it!

Image Mind Light is a film about a civilization on the decline. Everything is run-down from wars and changes of power, and it’s a poor society. People have been medicated into sedation and complacency to work and not think about life, but there are those the struggle against what’s going on. And it’s a great story, the script is fantastic.

Here are a few photos from the set, more will be coming as we wrap tonight!

Be sure to view the rest of this entry to see all of them.

Over Water

New photo on flickr!

Since I moved to Seattle, I’ve always wanted a good shot of this, and yesterday I finally got it. I shot this from the car. I have a reaaaaly bad habit of doing that. But lots of my favorite shots have been taken that way! I’ll have to make a post dedicated to that sometime soon.

Enjoy!

Here’s last night’s episode of The Office from Hulu in case you missed it. Jaw dropping awesomeness!

Friday linkfest!

Friday, April 18th, 2008

An interesting and somewhat depressing look at some movies being remade that you likely haven’t heard of just yet. I can’t believe they’re looking at remaking Conan. I know it went to TV, so why would there be a need for a remake? Also, I’m pretty sure there are lots of amazing new scripts out there so I wonder why no one would take these out for a spin.

Hot on the heels of adding video to their site, Flickr have added a code site which lets you browse through some of their open source goodies. I know the API site has been around for a while, so it’s nice to see that it’s more public-facing now.

Perhaps more entertaining: make your own Pinhole cameras! It should be known that I have a camera fetish, and on top of that it’s tough to take a pass on making your own pinhole cameras! I’m glad the folks at Corbis did this! Check it out!

How to: Test Websites Locally

Friday, April 18th, 2008

For you Mac users out there, did you know you can test a website you’re building locally? It’s a pretty handy tool, and has saved me tons of time. Before I knew about this, I’d usually have to save a file, upload it via my favorite FTP application (Transmit!), wait, and refresh my browser. But if you follow these steps, you’ll be able to build, test, and debug your sites locally.
